Planning Turkey from Pakistan? How the Turkish visa works for Pakistani passports, a 10-day Istanbul, Cappadocia and Antalya itinerary, and what a group tour costs.
Turkey is the international trip we are asked about most, and it is easy to see why. Istanbul's mosques and bazaars, balloons drifting over Cappadocia at sunrise, and the Mediterranean at Antalya, all in one country that feels familiar and welcoming to travellers from Pakistan. Since 2019, when we started running international trips, it has been one of our most loved tours.
The Turkish visa for Pakistani passport holders
This is the part people worry about, so here is how it works at the time of writing.
If you already hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, you can usually apply online for Turkey's e-visa. It is a single-entry visa for up to 30 days, for tourism or business, and you apply at the official site, evisa.gov.tr. Be careful of look-alike sites that charge extra.
If you do not hold one of those, you need a sticker visa, applied for through the Turkish visa application centres in Pakistan. That means an appointment, your passport, bank statements, hotel and flight bookings, and time. Leave several weeks.

When to go
- April to June and September to October are the sweet spots: warm, not scorching, and good light for Cappadocia's balloons.
- July and August are hot and crowded, but perfect for the coast.
- Winter is cold in Istanbul and snowy in Cappadocia, which is beautiful but means more cancelled balloon flights.

Istanbul
Give Istanbul at least three days. The Old City around Sultanahmet holds the big three, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace, all within walking distance. Take a Bosphorus cruise between Europe and Asia, and get lost in the Grand Bazaar and the spice market.
Cappadocia
Fairy chimneys, cave hotels, and the famous sunrise hot-air balloons. Balloon flights depend on the wind and are sometimes cancelled, so if it matters to you, try to have two mornings available. Below ground, Derinkuyu is an underground city carved many storeys deep into the rock.
Antalya
The Turquoise Coast. Kaleiçi, the old walled town, has narrow lanes down to a Roman harbour, and the beaches are some of the best in the Mediterranean.
What does a Turkey tour from Pakistan cost?
The biggest costs are flights and hotels, followed by internal flights to Cappadocia and Antalya. Travelling as a group brings all of these down.

Tips for Pakistani travellers in Turkey
- Food: halal food is everywhere, and you will not go hungry. Try a proper Turkish breakfast at least once.
- Money: cards are widely accepted in cities. Carry some lira for small shops, taxis and tips.
- Mosques: dress modestly to visit. Women should carry a scarf, and everyone removes their shoes.
- Bargaining is normal in the bazaars, but not in shops with fixed prices.
Frequently asked questions
Can Pakistanis get a Turkish visa on arrival?
No. Pakistani ordinary passport holders need either an e-visa, which is only open if you hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, or a sticker visa arranged before you travel.
How long does a Turkish visa take from Pakistan?
The e-visa is usually quick once you are eligible. A sticker visa takes longer, and processing times change through the year, so start at least a month before you plan to fly.
Is the Cappadocia balloon ride included?
Not on our tour, because it depends on the weather and not everyone wants to fly. We can book it for you as an optional extra.
